Steve Nash has been considered one of the game's top floor generals since his emergence in Dallas in 1998. Nash originally was drafted by Phoenix in 1996 but his stay there was short-lived. After spending two seasons backing up KJ and Jason Kidd, Nash was shipped to Dallas for Martin Muursepp, Bubba Wells, Pat Garrity and a 1999 1st round pick, who turned out to be Shawn Marion. Nash eventually emerged as a superstar in Dallas where he played beside longtime friend Dirk Nowitzki. However, after six years in Dallas Nash tested the free agent market in the summer of 2004 and landed a 65 million dollar payday from his original team, the Phoenix Suns. |
