| McFarlane Announces 2006 Sports Picks Releases |
On Monday McFarlane Toys announced their upcoming release schedule for 2006. Announcements included a Matt Hasselbeck and Troy Polamalu Super Bowl XL 2 Pack, an MLB Collectors Edition Barry Bonds, NHL Series 13, NFL Series 14 and more. The thing that caught my eye was the Reggie Bush figure for NFL Series 14. Next to each player they have their team. Next to Bush it says 'draft pick.' You might as well write 'Houston Texans, Hall of Famer, NFL All Time Leading Rusher' because that's the way this guy gets treated. Last time I checked he got shut down by Texas and outperformed by teammate LenDale White in the Rose Bowl. Lets hold up a bit before annointing this guy as the savior of the NFL. And while we're on the topic, why on earth would the Texans pick him. They have Domanick Davis! Behind a horrific offensive line, with no passing game and defenses keyed on him he's averaged 4.1 yards/carry. Two years ago he had over 1700 rushing and receiving yards combined and 14 TD's! In only 11 games this past season he had over 1300 combined yards and 6 TD's! There is a phenomenal Tackle named D'Brickashaw Ferguson out of Virginia who will be a top 5 pick. Take him! I know it's not the most sexy pick but look at what Orlando Pace, Jonathan Ogden, and Walter Jones did for their respective teams (a combined 4 Super Bowl appearances). [read release]

| McFarlane Announces New Deion Figures |
You might be wondering why I didn't mention that McFarlane announced a two new Deion Sanders Figures above? Well, that's because for some reason it isn't in that press release - I learned of the figure from a Tuff Stuff article. The figures sound awesome and are McFarlane's answer to all of the ordering problems that happened when two Sanders Collector's Club Figures were released this year. One figure will have Deion in the all black Ravens uniform and the other will feature Deion in the red and silver Atlanta Falcons uniforms from his rookie season (very cool by the way, check out the photo in the story). | Upper Deck Making 'The LeBrons' Figures |
Upper Deck teamed with Nike to Launch 'The LeBrons' action figure line based on Nike's TV Ad Campaign. The All-Star Edition of 'Athlete LeBron' was released today with a limited edition of 750 figures that sold out within an hour. Why do people buy this junk? If Nike and Upper Deck are lucky, these will become as popular as the Lil Penny figures from the early 90's or the Sprite Miles LeBron figures from like six months ago. [read release]
